By early 1985, former Dead Or Alive guitarist, Wayne Hussey joined the Sisters Of Mercy, and the band proceeded to record their debut album, First and Last and Always. Hussey focused on 12-string electric and acoustic guitars while also contributing as a songwriter. His studio experience with Dead or Alive proved invaluable, as the Sisters set out to record the record.Released on 11th March ’85, the album was followed by Gary Marx’s departure from the band in the midst of a supporting tour, citing an inability to continue working with Andrew Eldritch. The Sisters of Mercy completed the tour as a three-piece act, bidding farewell to fans with their final performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 18 June 1985.Among the finest shows on the FALAA tour, the group’s performance in Oslo, Norway on16th May remains among fan favourites, a concert recorded for live FM Broadcast across Scandinavia.
