Formed in Bath, England, in the early 1980s, Tears for Fears quickly became one of the defining voices of the Second British Invasion, which achieved global success during the first half of the decade. Formed by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, the band released groundbreaking albums including The Hurting (1983) and the multi-platinum Songs from the Big Chair (1985), blending introspective songwriting with lush, widescreen pop. Their chart-topping singles ‘Shout’, ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ and ‘Mad World’ earned them international acclaim and secured their reputation as both innovators and hitmakers.In 2016, following an early-90s split and subsequent reunion, the band returned to the stage with their first UK shows in a decade. The comeback was a triumph, and in 2017 they carried that momentum into a North American co-headline tour with Hall & Oates, alongside a string of high-profile festival appearances around the world.
