Talco – 20 ANNIVERSARY LIVE! CD

A live album (again) is a rather obvious and yet fitting idea for Talco’s anniversary. In 2022, Talco had decided to hire a mixing desk for the “Videogame” tour. The opportunity to record every concert was tempting, and by the end of the tour there were around 35 sets that could be turned into a real live album. And “real” is what it’s all about. Nothing was allowed to be faked, re-recorded or overdubbed, nothing was allowed to be cleaned up. The moral dictate to represent live who Talco is, with the music, determination, the jokes, the goliardic nonsense, the warmth of the people, all that had to be preserved and therefore be “true”, not perfect or artificial, but true. A real DIY project in which the entire Talco family participated: from sound engineers Matteo “Houdini” Piccolo – who recorded all the live performances of the tour – and Edoardo “Dodi” Pellizzari (Overdrive Recording Studio), who mixed the album, to the contributions of the entire band, recorded during a year and a half European tour. In Talco’s own words: “We never thought we’d make another live album, but maybe after another 10 years we needed it. Many bands reach a goal and celebrate it with a best of compilation, but the greatest hits of a live band can only be a live album.” And here are the essential songs from the 20 years of TALCO’s career to date, recorded between 2022 and 2024 in different cities, a dream set list in front of the best fans in the world. Always remembering that a destination is not the end, but a new path to follow.
