Started as a tribute to his English metal heroes from his childhood, the band of Greek Heavy Metal musician and producer Bob Katsionis is becoming more and more a fixture in today’s Heavy/Power Metal scene. One year after the release of their debut album “Storm The Walls”, the 2nd album “Olympus” is now coming After the first live performance of Stray Gods at the Up The Hammers Festival in Athens, it was clear that the band had the potential to survive beyond their love for Iron Maiden. The excellent chemistry between the band members, coupled with the positive reviews that compared their debut album to Iron Maiden’s discography, motivated them to compose music without creative constraints and to focus solely on writing extraordinary songs. Although all band members played a decisive role, Artur’s vocals are particularly exceptional. In addition, the album is littered with Easter eggs from the Maiden era of 1986-1992, a gift to the fans. The title track is perhaps Katsioni’s best composition to date. Despite the echoes of Maiden, Stray Gods have a distinctive, unique sound.
