“Chris Herin is guitarist and mastermind behind the American prog band Tiles.Throughout their career the band released 9 albums, some on their own label and some through Laser’s Edge (USA) and Inside Out Music. Lending their exceptional talents to “Hiding in Plain Sight” is an impressive cast of nearly (30) supporting musicians including: PETER FRAMPTON, ALEX LIFESON (Rush), MARTIN BARRE (Jethro Tull), JOHN O’HARA (Jethro Tull), DOANE PERRY (Jethro Tull), MICHAEL SADLER (Saga), KIM MITCHELL (Max Webster), CODY BOWLES and KEVIN COMEAU (from Crown Lands), JEFF KOLLMAN and SHANE GAALAAS (Cosmosquad), TIM BOWNESS (No-Man), COLIN EDWIN (Porcupine Tree), RANDY McSTINE (Porcupine Tree), KEVIN CHOWN (Tarja Turunen, Chad Smith), MATTHEW PARMENTER (Discipline), TERRY SAMPSON (Singer, keyboard player and prolific songwriter)and many other notable guests. Chris’ solo album has been a labour of love and has been over 4 years in the making. The main theme centers around Alzheimer’s Disease, something Chris and some of his musical companions experiened first hand. The musical content is far more than just prog and has pop elements neatly packaged in between the more prog oriented material. Chris works along an incredible list of who’s who in the prog and rock world. All musicians contributed their specific talents to the individual songs, which constitutes a brave musical statement. Once again, HERIN teamed up with renowned producer TERRY BROWN and Grammy award winning mastering engineer PETER MOORE to give “Hiding in Plain Sight” a detailed and powerful sonic landscape. Complementing the poignant lyrical themes is HUGH SYME’s whimsical and engaging imagery.
