For twenty years now, Das Ich has been at the forefront of the global black scene as a formative veteran. Without ever having lost any relevance, the two protagonists Stefan Ackermann and Bruno Kramm mix a radical sound cocktail of danceable electronics, symphonic set pieces and morbid, German-language hymns full of lyrical directness that is second to none. ‘Staub’ was formed in 1993 after the first major European tour and under the impression of the huge success of ‘Die Propheten’ (‘The Prophets’). ‘Staub’, with its mid-tempi and lyrical lyrics, is less aggressive than ‘Die Propheten’. Songs like “Unschuld Erde” (“Innocence Earth”) and “Von der Armut” (“From Poverty”) belong to the Everblack scene.
