The hard-hitting Bergen band Variety Jones is finally ready with their debut album “Shell Shocked” – a pure hard rock record, that through nine tracks shines a light on issues like partner violence, mental health, and hopeless love. Serious themes typically associated more with dark bedroom pop than sweaty rock clubs. However, there’s no need to worry about things going soft. With heavy riffs, playful guitar solos, and massive sing-along choruses, you’ll barely have time to catch your breath between songs. Shell Shocked is for those who love partying to the sound of Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, and KISS. For those who miss the heyday of Ozzy and Iron Maiden. Shell Shocked is Blood, Sweat, Tears, and Fucking Rock N Roll. Despite not having released music yet, the band has already made a strong impression on the Norwegian music scene. For example, the track “Burn It To The Ground” features a contribution from Audrey Horne’s outstanding vocalist, Torkjell “Toschie” Rød. In 2024, Variety Jones toured with Nazareth and supported Danko Jones before capping off the year with their first UK tour. Variety Jones is a pure rock band of the old school, refusing to let anyone pick on them. That’s why you can’t stream this album. But you can own it. And you can hear it live. That’s how we like it.
