Buffy Sainte-Marie – SOLDIER BLUE – BEST OF VANGUAR CD

A 15-track “Best Of “ from one of Canada’s foremost musician, singer and songwriter. Buffy Sainte-Marie was first noticed on the folk circuit in the mid 60s. Since then she has been involved in country, rock, soundtracks (winning an Oscar for writing ‘Up Where We Belong’), and presented Sesame Street for five years. For most music fans she is remembered for the albums she recorded for Vanguard in the 1960s, which spotlighted the plight of her fellow Native Americans. Despite opposition and obstruction from the authorities, this remains a priority today. Vanguard have previously released four Buffy “Best Ofs” on CD, but this is the first compiled especially for the European market, and the first to include her UK hit ‘Soldier Blue’.
