David Bowie – NAKED & WIRED CD

This collection offers a fascinating glimpse behind the curtain, assembling a wealth of demos, studio outtakes, alternate versions and rare television performances recorded and broadcast during Bowie’s remarkable creative journey between 1968 and 1980, a period that saw his transformation from cult outsider to international superstar. Heard throughout are songs in transition: early arrangements that differ dramatically from their final incarnations, raw demo recordings that capture Bowie’s songwriting at its most immediate, and rare television appearances showcasing the charisma, theatricality and unpredictability that made him such a compelling performer. Far more than a simple archive of rarities, this collection stands as an essential document of Bowie’s early creative development and artistic ambition. These recordings illuminate Bowie’s continued evolution, forever reshaping ideas and searching for new forms of expression.
